I graduated in “Ecole Supérieure d’Arts Visuels” of Geneva in 1982. After, I studied livestock. During ten years, I worked in agriculture and rural development. Since 1995, I came back to my first interests with a regular practice of painting : watercolours sketch paintings of wild and domestic animals, living performances. I also worked in house building with natural materials as wood, soil and chalk. The discovery of Land Art works was fundamental for me; I subsequently realized outdoor “Art and Nature” installations as well as objects crafted with outdoor collected materials. It was for me a new way of looking at nature and country. Currently, my creations are made of vegetal materials, branches, grass, raw soil and recycled materials. I investigate the relationships between matter and emptyness, space and shapes, light crossing over shapes and matter. Archaic buildings from raw soil and wood and ancient technics of weaving, were inspirational for my works. I develop a work around the earth and the relationships between the earth of an area and the specific vegetation which is growing on it through sculptures made of earth and vegetals and between the earth and people who is working on land. This relationship with the earth has changed over time and I want to question this evolution. For that, I go to people who kept a strong connection to the earth like market gardeners, breeders, old people who cultivate their own vegetable garden or everybody who feel a strong connection with a ground. I also want to question the nature of this connection for people who are deprived of their earth because of exile. I envisage doing this project in a long- term and in different places. This work takes the form of an visual and acoustic installation. Along with this work, I explore another way to approach nature through drawings into nature, with my eyes closed, listening to the sounds of nature.
